Working Hours: 37 hours per week, with flexibility as required by business needs.

The Role: Buyer
We are recruiting a Buyer to join our Procurement team. Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will ensure goods, materials and services are sourced efficiently and cost-effectively to support operational needs, while maintaining quality and continuity of supply. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive procurement improvements and deliver value to the business.

Key Responsibilities: Buyer
· Source goods, materials and services in line with cost, quality and delivery targets.
· Build strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
· Lead tendering and renegotiation activities across spend categories.
· Negotiate supplier contracts and identify cost-saving opportunities.
· Monitor supplier performance and carry out regular reviews.
· Analyse spends, market trends and supplier performance data.
· Support sourcing strategies including dual-sourcing initiatives.
· Use SAP and reporting tools to manage purchasing activities.
· Support new projects and act as liaison between suppliers and internal teams.
· Occasional global travel may be required.

Essential Requirements: Buyer
· CIPS qualification (or studying towards) or relevant business/commercial degree.
· Purchasing experience, working closely with Suppliers
· Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
· Advanced Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, data analysis).
· Experience working with purchasing data and reporting.
· Strong communication, analytical and organisational skills.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
· Full driving licence for supplier visits.

· Experience within manufacturing or chemical procurement.
· Familiarity with SAP ERP systems.
· Experience working with raw material indexes.
