What You’ll Do: Foundry Operator
As a Manufacturing Foundry Operator, you’ll play a key role in the production of specialist magnesium materials at our Swinton site. This is a physically demanding role in a challenging environment, requiring focus, resilience, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Your main responsibilities will include:
· Operating semi and fully automated melting and casting equipment
· Handling molten metal safely and effectively
· Monitoring production data and ensuring process efficiency
· Conducting quality checks and recording results
· Maintaining safety standards in all production areas
· Packing finished goods for dispatch using FLT (counterbalance)
· Supporting troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities

Shift Pattern – 24/5+
Our rotating 24/5+ shift pattern provides variety and structured rotation:
· Week 1: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday – Nights
· Week 2: Monday, Tuesday – Days | Wednesday, Thursday – Nights | Friday – Half Night (6pm–12am)
· Week 3: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday – Days
Please note: The shift pattern is subject to change based on business needs. Any changes to your shift pattern may result in a change to your salary to reflect revised working hours and shift premiums.

What We’re Looking For: Foundry Operator
· Experience in a similar operator role, ideally in a foundry or heavy industrial environment
· A strong focus on health & safety
· Good IT literacy and the ability to record production data accurately
· A reliable, team-focused attitude with excellent communication skills
· Physically fit, with the ability to work long shifts in a demanding setting
· A valid Forklift Truck (counterbalance) licence is an advantage but not essential

Important Salary Information: Foundry Operator
To qualify for the top end of the salary range (£42,703), candidates MUST hold a minimum of a Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) relevant to the role.
· Applicants without this qualification will still be considered but will be offered a lower salary aligned with their experience and qualifications.
· Salary is also dependent on the shift pattern worked. Any changes to your shift pattern may result in a change to your salary to reflect altered hours or shift allowances.
